Basic information
The therapeutic community of Sejřek in the village of Sejřek near Nedvědice is a treatment community for men and women who are addicted to drugs.
This project has been prepared since 1997 when we managed to get an available building for this purpose. The building has been reconstructed up today:
17 beds for clients, pottery workshop, artistic blacksmith workshop, locksmith workshop, rooms for family members to visit their relatives and other technical buildings.
The main aim of the programme is to help the clients to find, develop and strengthen motivation not to take drugs and to return back to the society and job market.
The long term work aims to improve clients´ basic system of values, to develop the ability to take responsibility for him/herself, to support healthy lifestyle and to intensify trust in positive relationships.
The base of the treatment is long term therapy, training of responsibility, pedagogical work, social service, leisure time activities ( sport, culture).
The cooperation with clients’ families is a very important part of the programme.
The model of our therapeutic community is the most efficient as well as one of the most demanding approaches to drug addiction and this model is common in the Czech Republic and abroad too.
